Grand Opening of Snugglebug Studios in Brisbane!!
February 1st 2016 is the day I open my new studio to the people of Queensland. I relocated here 1 year ago where I ran a successful Newborn photography business in Craigieburn, Melbourne. I specialise in Newborn photography but also offer Maternity, Baby and Cake Smash sessions.
It was not easy to pack up and say goodbye to everyone and everything I worked so hard for but it had to be done, a work relocation for my husband forced us to move and in December 2014 we did just that!
We moved to Mango Hill first to see if we liked the area before buying, after 2 months I knew this is where I would like to live so started to search for the right property to buy… 3 months later we still had not found the right one! So we expanded our search to include Murrumba Downs. A few days later we spotted one that had just come on the market, I arranged an inspection the next day and well it was perfect for what we need, so we brought it… 🙂
The room that was to be my studio needed work, a lot of work to bring out it’s full potential. Early November we started the renovation. It took just over 2 weeks to do, we did all the work ourselves. Other than photography I am a keen DIY’er and love a challenge 🙂 Of course I had help from my amazing husband Isak who did a fabulous job of laying the floor boards! The rest was pretty much all me… 🙂
I pulled up all the old carpet, ripped out the shelves in the cupboard, pulled off all the old skirting, replaced the old door, put in another new door and door frame where there was once just a walk through, painted the walls, added new modern skirting plus installed a split system (this was done by a professional!)
Here are some of the before, during and after photos.
I actually forgot to take proper photos with my camera of the before so mobile phone uploads had to do.
So above are what I have of the before and during photos.
Below are my finished studio photos! The studio is now nice, bright and modern looking with robes to store all my props, I will admit that is not all of the props you see, all my headband, bonnets and wraps are stored inside the draws and the door next to the wardrobes leads to another room where all my backdrops, lighting and more bigger props are stored… I didn’t want to clutter my new studio hehe 🙂
My walls are looking a little bare, I need to place an order for some new canvases really soon plus there will be a sample hands and feet sculpture frame added to the wall by the talented Alicia from Casting Keepsakes Brisbane North in which I offer complimentary photos to all her clients 3D sculpture frames.
This photo shows the wardrobe doors off just to see the range of props there is on offer, further down the doors have been put on.
So there you have it, you may probably feel more at ease knowing what my studio looks like so you know what to expect when you walk into my home 🙂
If you would like to enquire about a session I can be reached on 0421 439 141 during business hours or you can email me at email@example.com
I look forward to meeting you and your family in 2016!!
